exchange over different communication media like ISDN, Internet
and analog phonelines is possible. TeleConsult provides a
wide spread of possibilities to enrich a given image material
with additional informations and to send it as a message.
This can happen in offline-mode (messages will be send at
a favourable date, for example by night) or in online-mode.
Moreover the online-mode gives the opportunity to communicate
over far distances with a given partner in real time. In this
case both partners look at the same image material and through
text messages (chat window) and transferred mouse actions
to the remote PC, they can discuss interactively over a medical
case.
In addition the new version of TeleConsult
provides by different functions the construction of a telemedicine-network.
In the connected database patient and image data and all incoming
and sended messages will be stored. A client/server-architecture
provides the central storage of all data of a telemedicine-center
and the access to this data from every PC, which is equipped
with the client-software.
Members of a telemedicine network store their data in their
local database and send their queries to the consultant center
via ISDN or other available channels. The medical history
of a patient, which is necessary for the assessment of a case,
will be sended anonymous and automatically with the messages.
