recotom® is a new algorithmic approach for reconstructing tomographic volumes from a series of X-ray projections. It has been optimized for any type of CBCT scans – however the same principle applies also on conventional CT scanners recotom® is based on proprietary, undisclosed MedCom technology. No matter if you compare to Feldkamp (FDK), weighted back projection (WBP) or iterative reconstruction (IR), recotom® will clearly outperfom in terms of reconstruction quality, flexibility, versatility and speed.
recotom® functionality is organized in 3 blocks:
a) Calibration. Performed in the factory when calibrating a new device, in the field by company employee during maintenance, or by local user during the periodical QA procedure. All automatic approch uses MedCom’s GeoCal® phantom designed to eliminate any interaction with the user
b) Reconstruction. Offers functionalities like jitter suppression, motion suppression, MAR, soft tissue, bone enhancement, low dose, etc
c) Quality assurance – QA. Uses daily patient data in the field to continuously monitor the calibration quality and notify the user in case of deviation from the factory values
